We use Google ReCaptcha to secure our contact forms to ensure that the user completing the form is a real person and not a computer bot. To achieve this ReCAPTCHA MUST collect personal information from users and set a cookie on the users browser.

So, what personal information does the reCAPTCHA collect?  First, the reCAPTCHA algorithm will check to see if there’s a Google cookie placed on the computer being used.  Then, an additional reCAPTCHA-specific cookie will be added to the user’s browser, and a complete snapshot of the user’s browser window at that moment in time will be captured, pixel by pixel.  All this information is used to make a determination of a real user or computer bot.

Alternative to reCaptcha
