Neil Watson was inducted as Pastor at Ballycrochan on Friday, 14 September. A capacity congregation attended, overflowing into the foyer and the minor hall.
The worship team led the congregation in a rousing rendition of Come People of the Risen King and Behold our God before Freddie McClaughlin (Chairman) opened in prayer.
Davy Mason (Secretary, Ballycrochan) informed those present of the context of the call and extended the right hand of fellowship to Neil and Diane. He then prayed for Neil, Diane, Sophie and Ben.
Pastor James Byers led the Act of Induction. (Pastor Byers led Neil to faith and has been a spiritual father and source of encouragement to Neil over many years.)
Neil responded by thanking the Antrim Church for its support and quoted from Acts20:24 - ‘But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. This verse, he said, had also been used at his earlier inductions to Bloomfield and Antrim.
Steven Curry (Pastor, Ballymena) brought the charge to Pastor and church. Speaking from 2 Timothy 2: 1-13, Steven focused on verse 8: ‘Remember Jesus Christ’ - (his work, his reign and the principle of his life).
Dave Ramsey (Director ABCI) brought greetings from the Association of Baptist Churches after which Davy Ellison (Neil’s fellow pastor in Antrim) closed the meeting in prayer.
Supper was served in the Sports Hall and included a birthday cake for Ben, who had celebrated his 14th birthday the previous day.
As Neil commences his ministry with us we value your prayers.
